Travel Drive Troubleshooting
THE CORRECT TROUBLESHOOTING OF A DRIVE OR CHAIN DRIVE
Do you have problems with your chain drive? Do you need advice? We are here to help.
Below you will find some basic tips and guidelines for troubleshooting your drive system, helping you to navigate the process. However, always remember to follow the installation instructions provided by the original machine manufacturer whenever possible.
External Issues
Just because your chain drive is weak or not moving does not necessarily mean that the issue lies within the drive itself. Even if there is damage to the gearbox or motor, this could be a symptom of a problem elsewhere in the construction machine.
Here are some tips on what to check:
- Is there enough oil in the hydraulic oil tank?
- Is the drive motor running at full speed?
- Are the chains properly tensioned?
- Are the sprockets, rollers, track rollers, and idlers in good condition?
- Is the machine supplying the correct pressure and flow to the drive motors?
- Are there any internal leaks in the hydraulic system?
- Is there back pressure or a blockage in the drainage system of the drive?
